A night out of the RV

Rolled into San Francisco early afternoon and checked into Carlton boutique hotel. Warm shower, clean sheets, huge bed, what a treat! We took our bikes and went for a ride across the Golden Gate bridge into Sausalito and back, a short ride, but always great to cross that bridge. Craving our daily afternoon fix, we went hunting for a coffee shop open late. Lot of fun riding in that city, lots of short steep hills, crazy drivers and cyclists. What an experience and a lot more fun then driving!

I missed the coyotes signing and the cold fresh air!

With an early start we had time to hit The Mill for a simple amazing breakfast(best bread ever!) and great four barrel coffee, before heading to wine country.

Always ask the locals, but not any local! Getting to our new campsite, we asked recommendations for riding and exploring Wine Country by bike. BIG MISTAKE! You need to find a local cyclist! We got beautiful views, great wineries, but busy roads, inexistant or badly maintained shoulders. There are great and less crowded paths as you get off the main roads. Sonoma was a nice place to see, but we rode through Petaluma and Point Reyes today and found these towns to be more charming and welcoming. Today’s ride did not include wine tasting, but treated us to quiet and windy bike routes with wide shoulders, stunning scenery, cheese tasting, Oyster farms, …

I found the perfect road with just enough climbing, so Brad would still want to ride with me when we get home!
